On Tuesday November 27, a few Bedford High School senior athletes signed a national letter of intent, to become collegiate athletes. All of these students have worked extremely hard to get to where they are now and are excited to start their next chapter participating in sport at the college level, also known as “committing” to the college where they intend to compete.
The students who attended the signing:
Emily Adams- Merrimack College, Volleyball
Brianna Coco- Merrimack College, Soccer
Delaney Flanagan- Saint Anselm College, Running
Sophia King- Fairfeild University, Rowing
Sydney Leyden- Assumption College, Swimming
Sydney Lynch- Bentley University, Fieldhockey
Hannah McCarthy- Elon University, Lacrosse
Avery Mosseu- Saint Anselm College, Baseball
Shayna Salis- University of New Hampshire, Soccer
Ryan Sledjeski- Providence College, Soccer
The signing took place in the BHS commons. Many of us had invited family members, friends, coaches, teachers, and other people who helped us with our journey. When I arrived, the commons was nicely decorated with balloons of Bedford bulldog colors, and tables and chairs in the front for all of the student athletes to sit. A slideshow played introducing each each athlete, the college they had committed to, and some action shots of each of us participating in each of our sports. Mr. Parker gave the rundown. We then took turns signing our commitment to each college, which was followed by many pictures. Everyone is really looking forward to their next chapter in college, carrying their bulldog heart with them into their future athletic endeavors.
