Everyone loves to sit back and watch some Netflix after a long day. December is now here and Netflix is releasing many new productions. Here is a full list of December arrivals and “What to watch this holiday season”.
Netflix Originals:
Dogs of Berlin (Season One)
Release date: December 7th
This is the second German series that is going to be launched on Netflix after Dark. This show follows two cops in Berlin that work in a department full of crime and corruption. Dogs of Berlin is a crime TV series and can be described as “dark” and “violent”. The production stars Felix Kramer, Anna Maria Muhe, and Urs Rechn.
Neo Yokio: Pink Christmas (Special)
Release date: December 7th
With season two still in airing, Neo Yokio is returning for a Christmas special. Neo Yokio is an American-Japanese anime that is set in the greatest city in the world: Neo Yokio. It is the most populated city in North America with the most modern innovation and design. Among its citizens is Kaz Kaan, a lovesick teenager that goes through life with his two best friends, Lexy and Gottlieb. This quirky and innovative animation stars Jaden Smith, Jude Law, and Tavi Genvinson.
Plan Couer (The Hookup Plan) (Season One)
Release date: December 7th
This new French comedy series is set in Paris France. The story focuses on the life of three best friends including Elsa who is hung up on her ex. To help Elsa move on, her friends secretly hire a male escort but their plan works a little too well… This feel-good romance stars Marc Ruchmann, Zita Hanrot, and Sabrina Quazini.
Fuller House (Season 4)
Release date: December 14th
Oh my Lanta! Fuller House is now back with its fourth season! Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, and Andrea Barber are the returning cast from the original sitcom Full House in 1987. Fuller House is a spinoff of Full House where DJ is now a widow and mother to three sons. The family is still living in DJ’s childhood home alongside her sister, Stephanie, and her lifelong best friend, Kimmy Gibler. This show is filled with laughs as life brings unexpected twists.
Tidelands (Season 1)
Release date: December 14th
This all-new Australian crime series is set in Orphelin Bay. After an ex-con returns to her small fishing village, she discovers a dead body that washes on shore that uncovers the dark secrets of the town including its half human-half siren residents. This supernatural production stars Elsa Pataky, Marco Pigossi, and Charlotte Best.
Roma
Release date: December 14th
This film from Oscar-winning Alfonso Cuarón chronicles a chaotic year in the life of a middle-class family and their housekeeper. It is set in a crime rampant city in Mexico during the 1970s. This emotional and eyeopening production stars Yalitza Aparicio and Marina de Tavira.
Sunderland Till I Die
Release date: December 14th
Could this be the most niche and exciting documentary series Netflix has produced? Possibly. This docu-series follows the English soccer club Sunderland throughout the 2017-18 season where the team is relegated from the Premier League.
Voltron: Legendary Defender (Season 8)
Release date: December 14th
Voltron: Legendary Defender returns this December for their 8th and final season. In this series, five heroes unite with their flying robot lions and defend the universe from evil. This animation is imaginative and exciting.
Springsteen on Broadway
Release date: December 15th
This film starring Bruce Springsteen is based on his autobiography. In this movie, Springsteen will perform some of his greatest hits and share his personal stories.
Ellen DeGeneres: Relatable (Standup Special)
Release date: December 18th
We all love Ellen DeGeneres, an American comedian with her well-known talk show, Ellen. This will be the first standup she has done in 15 years.
Diablero
Release date: December 21st
This new series comes from Mexico and is based on the book El Diablo me obligó. The story revolves around a priest searching for help from a demon hunter where their first job is to stop the supernatural from taking over the world. If you love The Vampire Diaries or Supernatural, this show is for you.
3 Below: Tales of Arcadia (Season 1)
Release date: December 21st
After crash-landing on Earth, two royal teen aliens struggle to blend in as they invade intergalactic bounty hunters and try to rebuild their ship in order to return back to their homeland.
Birdbox
Release date: December 21st
Five years after a wave of mass suicides wipe out the population, a desperate mother and her two children go on a dangerous quest to find sanctuary. If you loved The Quiet Place, then this film is for you.
Watership Down (Season 1)
Release date: December 25th
Based on the survival and adventure novel, this film will retell the classic story in a four-part special.
