Yeezy Rises Again; Can Fashion Forgive and Forget?

On February 9th, 2025, Yeezy launched a Superbowl ad with Kanye West (CEO, Founder) on a dental bed with newly implanted grillz and tinted sunglasses promoting the company by directing viewers to ‘Yeezy.com’. The ad was criticized as unorthodox and odd given it was just West shooting a video of himself on an iPhone. Although the commercial did work, directing viewers to the website, it backfired horribly in an unexpected twist

Before, Yeezy had many options in their catalog, effortless and minimalist clothing all priced at $20. Here they displayed one item, a white shirt with a prominent black swastika promoting Nazi ideology. Two days after the promotion was put up, Shopify (a service-provider for Yeezy’s website) shut down the store and banned West from selling more clothes through their network. On the 13th of February, they launched the website back up to say, ‘YEEZY STORES COMING SOON’ drawn in a daunting red digital pencil with a scribbled heart. The unsettling message stayed until early of August where they re-launched with a brand new inventory of Season 10 – or SZNX – with instead of a $20-price-for-all, they range from $20 – $80.

The brand’s pricing shows the rawness of production based on material, shape, weight/length of fabric, and manufacturing cost. It also stands out with their flat rates and only four price options ($20, $40, $60, $80). The new supply now involves a mass range of outerwear, shirts, women’s lingerie, activewear, leather garments, and a limited color scheme. To support this ideology of inaccessible minimalism, Yeezy has limited their clothes to a strict white, gray, and black color scheme; the only exception being the YS-01 in shade brown.

As of December 2025, Yeezy has once again updated its catalog from what customers may purchase now, along with an updated website. They utilized the toggle options between men, women, accessories, and shoes, simplifying the shopping experience. Along with adding never seen before Yeezy products that consist of fur coats, leather jackets, reversible bombers, blue and more neutral shaded slides and even jeans. This latest collection debut sets the bar to new heights for Kanye, broadening their selection to fit trends and cutting off ties with collaboration, as we have seen that didn’t go well with both Adidas and GAP.

Critics and reviewers have yet to comment on Yeezy’s return to mainstream online fashion, while consumers have already posted about their late shipment, off sizing, and recommendations to others. I personally ordered SL-01, [with included shipment fees] a clog-design on the notable Yeezy slides; my personal size is a 14 even though they arrived in size 13. Thank goodness they did because they are true to size if you size down. While they took five months to arrive, styling them with outfits took no effort, plus….I only paid $20.
