On November 14th, a food-charity event will be held in the Commons, after school. Everyone is welcomed to come, and to be served bread and soup for free. The food is donated by local restaurants, food corporations, and by the school.
Officer of NAHS, Lexi Guttman, says “In previous years, we’ve gotten food from Hannafords, T-Bones, and Trader Joes. We’ve also gotten (food) donations from our FACS classes.”
Another part of the event is the art gallery, where people can come and buy ceramic bowls made by NAHS. All sales money will go to a food charity and future Empty Bowls events. However, there needs to be bowls to sell. Luckily, NAHS is holding a bowl making class every WIN, until November 7th, in the Ceramics room.
“It’s a super beginner friendly project, you don’t have to be good at pottery, you don’t even have to be part of NAHS to make one. If anyone wants to make a bowl, they just need to email an NAHS officer and/or art teacher.” Says BHS art teacher, Mrs. Devita.
The event itself is from 2:30-7:30, that includes setting up, collecting bowl donations, serving food, taking pictures, and finally taking everything down at the end of the night. Any help during the event is appreciated, and staying the whole five hours is not required. If you think you can come and help then send an email to a NAHS officer, or an art teacher.
